Individuals
We can all benefit from having someone to talk to. Going to therapy can serve as a weekly reminder to slow down and take a look at what is working and what isn't. It is a safe place for you to allow yourself to be vulnerable and discuss the things that are difficult to talk about.
Reasons for seeking individual therapy include, but are not limited to:
-
Anxiety and/or stress
-
Panic attacks
-
Burnout
-
Trauma and/or PTSD
-
Obsessive or distorted thinking
-
Relationship issues
-
Codependency
-
Depression
-
Grief and/or loss
-
Self Esteem
-
Addiction and problematic substance use
Together, we will work on uncovering your patterns and identify where and why you may feel stuck. Your journey is unique, and I would be honored to play a part in it.
Couples
In couples therapy, I will provide a safe environment for partners to learn how to identify their emotions and needs and effectively communicate them with one another. The couple will learn new ways of listening, responding and expressing themselves.
Issues that bring couples to therapy include, but are not limited to:
-
Infidelity
-
Sexual desire discrepancy
-
High conflict
-
Premarital counseling
-
Bickering/spiteful interactions
-
Helping couples who want to break up successfully
-
Blended families
-
Parenting challenges
-
Poor communication
-
Lack of connection
Relationships can be challenging, and though challenges faced
may be similar in nature, they are also unique to each couple. I am
here to listen and support you through yours.
Kids and Teens
Kids and teens go through natural changes in moods and behaviors. Though these changes are oftentimes predictable and a healthy part of growth and development, it can be helpful for them to have someone to talk to.
Seeing a therapist can help your child build social skills, coping skills and emotional intelligence. It can also support them in processing the changes they are experiencing, and increase their overall well-being.
Events that may impact a child or teen’s mental health include, but are not limited to:
-
The birth of a sibling
-
The death of a loved one, such as a family member or a pet
-
Physical or sexual abuse
-
Poverty or homelessness
-
Natural disaster
-
Moving to a new place or attending a new school
-
Being bullied
-
Taking on more responsibility than is age-appropriate
-
Parental divorce or separation
-
Substance abuse
I view therapy with kids and teens as a positive and grounding support in their developmental journey. It is something that can positively impact your child long-term, not just during the course of therapy.
